Offering fresh content i.e if its forum related then have new threads daily it helps with having users return to your website.

So if your just starting a forum get all the friends you can to help out with new threads daily is possible on good subjects about whatever niche your in.

Even threads aimed at fun and general living can be big such as favorite movie or favorite food. Most posting members will reply back which i have found helps others sign up so they can chime in also.

This will help boost traffic by having users return to your website to see if others have responded etc

That is some really great advice and I would say it would be a key factor in building your forum. For example in our blog we are always trying to bring in new fresh content to entice users.

yeah definitley i will also say its best to take that bit extra time putting quality into your articles than churning out something thats already all over the web.

Ive also found write in your own personal style users really like that sort of thing they get accustomed to a writers humour and the way he projects subjects.
